Analyze medical records to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the medical evidence including pre-existing or co-existing medical conditions.
Identify issues, omissions and discrepancies with any records or bills.
Understand and utilize medical terminology, anatomical drawings, laboratory tests, and medications.
Posses ability to thoroughly evaluate a medical condition and to explain or illustrate a diagnosis in legal terminology. Able to summarize and prepare medical record summary/chronology reports for attorney-client review.
Case types include medical malpractice, worker compensation, injury, and toxic tort.
The principal certified legal nurse consultant has practiced as a registered nurse with experiences varying from acute care in the hospital setting to long term care practice for 20 plus years. These areas include ICU, Dialysis, Med Surg, OR nursing, Leadership/Management, Case Management, and Respiratory Care nursing for vent dependent patients (includes vent weaning), Subacute Inpatient Rehab, and Skilled Long Term Care.
